THOSE FROM DISTANT LANDS
CHAPTER II
An Exhibition of South Asian Heritage told through Film, Photography & Spoken Word Poetry.
Those from Distant Lands – is an evocative and powerful journey into the rich South-Asian heritage of Pendle. This exhibition honours the early pioneers who laid the foundations of a thriving community. Through their determination, resilience and spirit, they built not only new lives, but a lasting legacy brick by brick, story by story.
Developed over several months by our passionate group of young R&D Creatives, this project is a heartfelt tribute to identity, belonging, and the enduring influence of those who came before us. It reminds us that we are all standing on the shoulders of giants
The R&D Young Creatives visit the archives and museums, to uncover the stories of first arrivals of the early pioneers into Lancashire and Pendle in the 1950s and 60s.
